(How Can Your Everyday Shopping Benefit The Leukemia Society -- See Below for more info)
Hi everyone, I need your help! I've recently volunteered to help the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to raise funds. It works like this: I'm doing TWO marathons! Okay, so I'm walking instead of running, but hey, 26.2 miles is still a long way! Anyhow, your donations (which are tax deductible, by the way) will go toward the $2,200 dollars I must raise to participate in the Honolulu Marathon on December 14, 2003 and the Disney Marathon on January 11, 2004. Leukemia research has taken on a greater importance in my life as I have learned that the cure for leukemia is the first step towards curing all types of cancer. So, by raising money for this cause, maybe someday we can cure or even prevent leukemia and cancer. I've also recently learned that Leukemia is the number one cause of death of children between the ages of 1-14. If you think you may be interested in contributing, please contact me! I can mail you additional information as well as a pledge card. Or if you prefer, you can mail a check directly to me (made out to the Leukemia Society). Either way, your money will be going to a great cause, that can someday benefit a whole lot of people. Thank you so much for reading this and I hope to be hearing from you soon!!!! One last bit of information: we are able to walk in memory of or in honor of anyone we would like, so I've chosen to walk in memory of Dorothy Cleer who is fighting Leukemia as requested by a valued contributor. If you know of anyone who has this disease or as died as a result of Leukemia, please let me know if you would like to walk in honor or in memory of them as well.
